News with title of Iraqi Students Moving Into Chinese schools focusing on the model schools Project in Iraq built by POWERCHINA posted in the "Important News" column of the third edition of the ChinaDaily on September 24th, 2024. It's said that these schools built by Chinese companies are modern in design, complete in function and excellent in quality, and the local Iraqi people affectionately called them" Chinese Schools ". The picture in this News shows School of No. 18, which has been completed and handed over to the Employer and Local Department of Education by the Iraq Muthana Model School Project Team organized and designated by HYPEC.

School of No. 18 is located in Samawah, Muthanna Province, Iraq, with a construction area of about 2,500 square meters, which can accommodate about 1,000 students at the same time. The spacious and bright classrooms of these Iraqi Model schools equipped with modern teaching facilities have greatly attracted the attention of local teachers and students, who have repeatedly expressed their strong desire to move into the new "Chinese school" for teaching and learning eagerly.

On 29th Sep,2024, we submitted our last handover application letter to Ministry of Construction & Housing & Municipalities and Public Works-Directorate of Building/MTN,which means that 53 model schools in Muthana Province have been completed by our Project team before the local school opening season in Iraq and "the schools are ready for occupancy without any obstacles on 29th Sep, 2024".

Our Iraq Model Schools of Muthanna Province Project Team is the first project team having completed the schools construction task of the whole province compared to other provincial model schools project teams in Iraq, which has obtained highly appraisal from General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers of Republic of Iraq in a formal letter and also from POWERCHINA Group and its MENA Headquarter.

The Iraq Model Schools Project is an important strategic project related to local society and livelihood by the framework of China-Iraq cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, which is crucial for the development and reformation of modern education development in Iraq, and it's also the most urgent livelihood project in Iraq at present. The completion of the project is of great significance for the improvement of the local basic education facilities in Iraq and the improvement of the education level in Iraq, presenting a very meaningful present for the upcoming 75th anniversary of the National Day of People's Republic of China and the 10th anniversary of the establishment of Powerchina Hubei Engineering Co., Ltd.
