The 132kV LOT3 Substation Project of UETCL, located in the north of the country, is an essential part of the 132kV power transmission and transformation project, which is the largest power transmission and transformation project in northern Uganda. The successful energization of Nebbi and Arua substations marked the completion and commissioning of the entire project.

The project plays a vital role in transmitting electricity in northern Uganda. Power is generated by Karuma, the largest hydropower station in Uganda, and transmitted through a 120-kilometer transmission line via the Nebbi and Arua substations. The completion of the project holds immense importance for northern Uganda's first connection to the national main grid, increasing power supply, and effectively solving the problem of electricity shortages in cities in the region. Meanwhile, it plays a crucial role in enhancing local people's livelihoods, and promoting local economic development.
